It takes an innovative team to create a first-of-its-kind private-party online marketplace. Motobyo isn’t just eliminating the need for car dealerships and connecting buyers directly to sellers; we’re making the process safe, seamless, and secure. We do so by providing access to every product & service needed to complete a successful transaction for both parties.

We’d like to take this opportunity to highlight the amazing people that have made Motobyo a reality!

President & CEO: Ron Averett

Ron is a 40+ year management and leadership veteran. During the first half of his career, he held senior positions at Citi, Advanta, and Chevy Chase Bank. This consisted of a variety of roles in operations, risk management, and marketing.

Following his entrepreneurial spirit, he became an operating CEO of two venture-backed firms: Princeton eCom and Softgate Systems.

Ron has significant experience in turnarounds and start-ups with proven performance scaling businesses in fast-paced environments.  He has also led companies through both acquisitions and valuation exits, having raised $90M+ of capital in his operating roles. And, he has been a Board member at his operating companies as well as BillTrust, Andera, and Motionsoft.

Founder & COO George Lekas:

George is a lifelong auto retail and management professional, becoming the general manager and running the day to day operations for a premium auto dealership at age 20.

He was the Co-Founder of eimports auto sales, one of the first online-only car dealerships in the country. He’s collaborated with eBay Motors, developing innovative bidding solutions for vehicle sales. He is also the architect of Motobyo’s patent-pending valuation technology. During his career, he has bought and sold tens of thousands of vehicles. These experiences and lessons learned throughout his auto career are the founding principles of the Motobyo business model.

CTO Steve Jovanelly:

Steve has been a technologist and innovator for 25+ years. He has operated at the ground-level,  launching companies and developing high-performing teams as well as serving as an advisor for others on all things tech-related.

As a tech entrepreneur, he founded multiple companies:

He was the principal in launching Innovation Labs at SilverPop (now an IBM company) and PGi. Serving as a mentor, his advisory leadership roles include Boomtown, Founder Institute, and Leeds School of Business (University of Colorado). Steve is the technical architect of Motobyo’s initial and current platforms. He has been with Motobyo since its inception, responsible for developing its functionality and scalability.
